My name is Charlotte. I am 25 years old. My fiance is Shane. We've been engaged since late May 2011. We've been dating since June 2010. We went to school together all our lives but never really took notice of each other. June 2010 we both attended the wedding of our best friends, on the island of St Thomas. While on the trip we realized that our casual flirtation we always had was much more. We fell in love against some pretty tough trials. In December of 2010 Shane, a marine reserve since he was 17, announced to me that he was getting activated.. and deployed. I quickly moved into his house with him. He was deployed for 3 months (to Romania.. not too bad) from June-September. We went to a local park for a early anniversary date. When I was looking through the observation goggles I turned them towards him. I one hand he was holding a ring and the other a note asking me to marry him. I of course said yes. Knowing he would be away we planned for a ways off (and a good thing too). We planned for October 2013. Shane's activation ended... and then restarted, for a second year.
My plans have progressed slowly but surely. The following things are done
We also know what songs we will be playing for special dances, have a starting off point for menu, I have the majority of the save the date design done. We know who our officiate is going to be. I have ALOT to do and around 10 months to do it. I will keep you posted about how it is going.
As it is I've been writing on my calender to finish my save the date design so I can send it to print for 3 months. As well as collecting address.We have the guest list pretty well figured though. I feel there is actually more done then this but its just little things, even if they do add up.
